Your Microsoft Hotmail or Outlook.com email service may get blocked in a bid to protect it from fraud or abuse. The most likely cause of a blocked account is unusual sign-in activity. Although getting your account blocked is frustrating, access can be arranged by following these simple steps.
Begin by visiting Microsoft Live to recover your account and reset your password.
Enter the email address of your blocked account and enter the characters you see on your screen and select Next.
Enter the code generated by your authenticator app or select Use a different verification option to get a text message.
After you enter the security code, you’ll need to change your password to complete the unblocking process.
Make sure you create a strong and complex password to help keep your account secure.Use capital letters, numbers, and symbols (@£$%^) in your password, and try not to use the same password for different accounts.
You don’t need a smartphone to receive a security code.
Text messages may come from either “MSFT”, a short number, or a mobile number.
If you have requested a security code, you can trust the message that arrives.
If you don’t have an alternate phone number or email address or you can’t get to it, select I didn’t get a code when you’re prompted for a code at sign-in or I don’t have access to these when you’re resetting your password and then follow the instructions.
There could be several reasons if you still cannot sign in to your Outlook account, from forgetting your password, to travelling, or using a new device.
If you remember your password but it is not working, make sure that Caps Lock is turned off and your email address is spelled correctly.
Clear your browser history, or try signing in to your account from a different internet browser.
If these don’t help get you back in to your account, try resetting your password or see if one of the other scenarios below applies to you and give them a try.

If the above suggestions do not work, you may need to fill out a recovery form.
The account recovery form works by asking questions about your account that only you could answer.
Microsoft will review your answers and respond within 24 hours with either instructions to get back in to your account or a denial.
Answer as many questions as possible – do not worry if you don’t have an answer, but it is better to guess and be close than to leave a question blank.
Supply Microsoft with a working email to contact you, in order to give you the results of your recovery request – you can even use a friend’s account.
If you have used your account to sign in to an Xbox, finding your Xbox One device ID before filling out the recovery form makes it easier to recover your account.
