In the first round of the postseason, the Minnesota Vikings will host the New York Giants at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Giants had a fantastic start to the season but ultimately finished with a final record of 9-7. While this is solid, it was only good enough for third in the tough NFC East behind the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys. As such, they’ll be the No. 6 seed in the postseason. The Vikings finished the season at 13-4, despite winning most of their games by less than a score. When it mattered most, they came out on top but some wins weren’t the most convincing. Regardless, they’re the No. 3 seed in the NFC and will have home-field advantage today.

These teams did match up during the regular season, just a few weeks ago. In a Christmas Eve game, Minnesota Came out on top at home by just a field goal which proves just how competitive today’s game could be.
This matchup will feature two of the top running backs in the entire NFL. Dalvin Cook will lead the way for the Vikings while Saquon Barkley is the top runner for the Giants.
As even as the running game should be, Minnesota will have the upper hand in the passing game. Justin Jefferson is an absolute superstar and could go off for 200 yards on any given day.
The last time the Giants were in the playoffs was in 2016 when they lost to the Green Bay Packers in the wild-card round. The time before that was in 2011 when they won the Super Bowl. On the flip side, the Vikings haven’t made the postseason since 2019, when they lost in the divisional round to the San Francisco 49ers.
