After a dreadful 1-6 start to the season, the Detroit Lions have put themselves in a position to get into the playoffs with a win on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, coupled with a Seattle Seahawks loss. Likewise, the Packers season appeared to be done, sitting at 4-8 at the start of December, but after four consecutive wins, Green Bay controls its own destiny and can get a Wild Card berth with a win. Detroit has won seven of its last nine games with wins over Green Bay, the playoff-bound Giants and division winners Jacksonville and Minnesota.

Two years after being traded from the Rams, Jared Goff is in the top seven of almost every quarterback statistic this season, throwing for 4,214 yards, a career-low seven interceptions, and with a touchdown pass today will have only his second 30-passing touchdown season in his seven-year NFL career.
With a win and a Seahawks loss, the Lions would see their first playoff berth since 2016 and would secure their first winning season in five years.
In their first meeting this season, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw three interceptions, all of them coming in the red zone, as Green Bay lost 15-9.
