Find out how to catch every game live from the World Cup 2022 wherever you are.
Four years later, the World Cup 2022 is back and is hosted by Qatar. Taking place in winter instead of its usual summer season, this year’s FIFA competition is already proving to be one of the most memorable ones and will see 32 countries compete to be crowned the winners.
Set to be one of the shortest World Cups, a total of 64 matches will take place and the competition will begin on November 20, 2022. Knockout stages will happen next before the final takes place on December 18, 2022. Every day there will be four matches and the opening match will see Qatar against Iran.
Gareth Southgate announced the England squad last Thursday and the 26-man squad will see Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane captain the team. The squad is a mixture of experienced and newer players with Conor Gallagher, James Maddison and Callum Wilson debuting in the England squad.
In England’s opening Group B match against Iran, the team won with a 6-2 result and goals contributed by Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford, Raheem Sterling and Jack Grealish. The second game will see them face the USA on Friday November 25, with kick off at 7PM and after that they will face off against Wales on Tuesday November 29, at 7PM.
