Rutgers vs Michigan State: How to watch, tv, radio, live thread – 247Sports

Rutgers basketball returns to the court tonight with a road contest against Michigan State. The Scarlet Knights are sitting at 13-5, coming off a 68-64 overtime win at home against Ohio State. Rutgers has also won seven of its last eight games and holds a No.23 national ranking. That has put Rutgers in sole possession of second place in the Big Ten with a conference record of 5-2.
Michigan State narrowly missed out on the chance to upset No.3-ranked Purdue on Monday, dropping a 64-63 decision at home. The game came down to a final shot and gave the Spartans a 12-6 record overall and 4-3 in conference play. Michigan State has now lost consecutive games to Purdue and Illinois after stringing together a seven-game winning streak. Steve Pikiell on being in second place in the Big Ten:
“You guys can talk about that. We’ve got Michigan State and it’s the best league in the country. We don’t ever look down the road these guys know how I am and I’ll never change. There’s a lot of season left and there is a lot of really good basketball and there’s a lot of things that go on, so we’ve got to stay focused on what’s important.”
Tom Izzo on Michigan State’s one-point loss to Purdue on Monday:
“We lost the game in the first minute. The ridiculous turnovers that first 5 minutes. AJ [Hoggard] looked like he’d reverted back to last year, we looked like we were out of sorts, we’re throwing it into guys’ backs. We just didn’t do our job, got behind, dug ourselves a hole. And to the credit of my team, we battled back and physically out-rebounded them. It was just a slugfest, more people getting thrown around under the basket. We out-rebounded the best rebounding team in the Big Ten, maybe one of the best rebounding teams in the country. We out-shot them. Missed a couple of key free throws, a couple of tough calls, a couple of bad plays early that we just couldn’t catch up from. And Purdue’s a hell of a team, so don’t take anything away from Purdue.”

Rutgers will be back in action next week with a Tuesday night home game against Penn State. The Nittany Lions started off playing tough basketball this season, but have dropped three of their last four. Penn State is currently holding a record of 12-6 coming off a 63-60 loss at Wisconsin. On Saturday, Penn State will host Nebraska as that is the only game before its showdown with Rutgers. Penn State is currently ranked No.53 in the NET and owns just a 1-3 road record.
