Spurs Icon Avery Johnson Returns to the Dome to Call Historic Game on Bally Sports Southwest – Bally Sports

San Antonio Spurs legend Avery Johnson will return to the Dome tonight as a special guest commentator for tonight’s historic San Antonio Spurs game against the Golden State Warriors.
Johnson will serve as guest analyst alongside Bill Land and Sean Elliott as the Spurs return to the Alamodome in what will be the most-attended regular season game in NBA history. Over 64,300 tickets have been sold for this game.
You can watch tonight’s historic San Antonio Spurs game against the Golden State Warriors as the team returns to the Alamodome on Bally Sports Southwest. Spurs Live will start with a special one-hour pregame show at 5:30pm.
Tonight’s game will also be available to stream on BallySports.com and the Bally Sports app.

SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 12, 2023) – In what is anticipated to be one of the biggest nights of basketball for the community in recent years, San Antonio Spurs icon Avery Johnson will return to the Alamodome as a special guest analyst on Bally Sports Southwest’s coverage of Friday’s game as the Spurs take on the Golden State Warriors. Johnson played for the Spurs from 1994 to 2001 in the Dome, including the 1998-99 championship season. The team retired his jersey in 2007.
Johnson will provide color commentary alongside Bally analysts Sean Elliott and Bill Land with Dan Weiss, Matt Bonner and Michelle Beadle reporting from within the Dome as the Spurs go up against the defending champion Golden State Warriors in their first game back at the stadium since 2002. Play-by-play coverage will tip off at 6:30 p.m. and the commentary crew will revisit classic moments at the Alamodome throughout the game, including the 1999 Championship, the Water Cannon Night, the 1996 All-Star Game and marquee matchups that drew over 30,000 fans to each game. 
Prior to the in-game coverage, a one-hour pregame show will air at 5:30 p.m. The special will feature a deep dive into the historical moments that defined the Spurs era in the Dome, as well as impressions from the current team, a preview of the upcoming matchup with the Golden State Warriors and fan interviews with reporter Bryan Colbert.
