Here are the live results and highlights for the UFC 282 co-main event between Paddy Pimblett and Jared Gordon.
Check back in on this post later on to see what happened in the UFC 282 co-main event, which is going down from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This post will cover the 155-pound bout between Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett and Jared “Flash” Gordon. Pimblett is currently on a hot streak, and has finished his last five foes before ever reaching the final round. Paddy brings a lot of hype with him, and a lot of eyeballs, but it will be his heart and skills that he must lean on tonight.
As for Gordon, he may not be coming off of the heals of consecutive wins, but he has won four of his last five. He also isn’t known for that one-hitter quitter on the feet, but Gordon is always game and is historically someone you have to finish in order to beat.
The early prelims begin at 6:00pm ET/3:00pm, PT, immediately followed by the regular preliminary card. Both broadcasts can be streamed on ESPN+. The PPV main card is slated for 10:00pm ET/7:00pm PT, and can be purchased on ESPN+.
Pimblett came forward right away, but the left hook of Gordon was finding a home over and over again. Pimblett was finding success with his leg kicks, and started to land a bit with his hands as the round went on. Gordon was throwing a lot, but he was making his shots count. Pimblett shot in for a takedown, but ended up pulling guard instead.
Gordon continued to get the better if the exchanges to open the second stanza. The fight then drifted into the grappling realm with Pimblett attacking with an arm triangle attempt from an unorthodox angle. Gordon escaped the sub and the fight returned the the feet. Pimblett went back to his leg kicks, while Gordon continued to work his boxing. Just as Pimblett started to connect with his hands, he accidentally poked Gordon and caused a pause to the action. The fight resumed and Pimblett landed a few more solid punches before the bell.
Gordon closed the distance right away to begin the final round. He pressed Pimblett against the cage as he searched for the takedown, and Pimblett was doing a good job of staying vertical, but he was being defensive. Pimblett started to throw elbows and knees while his back was to the cage, and then he found the space he needed to get free. Gordon went right back to the clinch, though, pressing Paddy against the cage. Pimblett initiated a scramble and found his way on the back with about 30-seconds to go. That’s where the fight ended.
