When is UFC 283? Date, start time, channel, live streams for … – Sporting News

At one point, the UFC’s flyweight division was on its last legs. The future was in doubt. Now, the division features the hottest rivalry in combat sports. It all comes ahead when Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno compete in a tetralogy fight for the undisputed UFC flyweight title at UFC 283.
The bout takes place inside the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on January 21.
The two first met at UFC 256 in 2020, with the back-and-forth classic ending in a majority draw. Figueiredo was deducted one point in the third round following a groin strike, but he retained the flyweight title. The rematch at UFC 263 saw Moreno submit Figueiredo to become the first UFC champion from Mexico.
At UFC 270, the two met again, with Figueiredo winning another back-and-forth affair via unanimous decision. Figueiredo needed to recover from injuries to his hand, which resulted in an interim title fight. Moreno beat Kai Kara-France at UFC 277 in July via TKO to become interim champion and secure the fourth fight.

Something to keep an eye on: The UFC sent a memo banning any fighters that continue to train with James Krause, a trainer and known MMA better, from competing in the UFC. Moreno belongs to Glory MMA, and must abandon Krause before fight night.
