Christmas Eve has arrived and we can’t think of a better way to end the holiday than with some NFL football! Due to the holiday weekend, the NFL has shifted its schedule to air the majority of this week’s games on Christmas Eve.
Across Christmas Eve, the NFL will be bringing fans a day of football with games coming across the afternoon. The action will then conclude with a special primetime game between two teams hoping to keep their postseason dreams alive — making for what should be an incredible game to cap off the night.
Heading into the game this evening, we knew it would be a big one as the NFL had been promoting the game heavily in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Immaculate Reception
which occurred on Dec. 23, 1972.
The Steelers had announced they would be retiring Franco Harris’ jersey during this event, so his recent passing is sure to make the moment even more emotional. We’re also expecting the Steelers to rally in hopes of getting a win, not just to keep their playoff hopes alive but to honor the late Steelers legend.
Tonight’s game should be a good one. Not only will it be celebrating the anniversary of the Immaculate Reception and the life of Franco Harris, but it’s also a game that holds some major playoff implications. The Steelers and Raiders are both on the outside looking in, making every win crucial to the teams’ hopes of making it into the postseason this year.
Each team has a lot to prove and is sure to bring their A-game as they look to pick up a win. When the teams last met back in September 2021, it was the Raiders who walked away with the win. Will history repeat itself or will the Steelers manage to get the best of the Raiders this time around? We’ll find out tonight as the two teams face off!
If you’re hoping to watch tonight’s game between the Raiders and Steelers, you’re in luck as there are a number of ways to enjoy the game! The game will be airing on NFL Network which means you can watch via the NFL+ as well as through any platform on which NFL Network is available including FuboTV, Sling TV, Hulu + LiveTV, and DIRECTV STREAM.
At 6 p.m. ET, NFL Network will begin its NFL GameDay Kickoff, so you can be sure to tune in early for a look back at the biggest stories from around the league and a preview of the holiday game between the Raiders and Steelers.
